Carbon Peel FAQs

Is this a traditional chemical peel?

A carbon peel isn’t a traditional chemical peel. We apply a carbon solution and then use laser energy to achieve peeling of the outermost layers of skin.

How does it work?

Instead of using a chemical solution to remove surface layers of skin, the Hollywood Peel uses mild laser energy that when applied, heats the skin and causes the top layers of skin to peel following treatment.

Why do you need to apply a carbon mixture to the skin?

As the liquid carbon dries on your skin, it absorbs dirt and oil, and traps dead skin cells. Then the laser, which is set to target the wavelength of the carbon, removes the carbon layer and the impurities it contains.

What do I need to do to prep for the treatment?

Absolutely nothing! If you use certain prescription skin treatments you may need to stop for a brief time prior to treatment.

How comfortable is this treatment?

Most people say the Hollywood Peel is painless, though you might feel a slight stinging sensation as the laser energy is administered. You should not have any lasting discomfort after treatment. Keep your skin hydrated with a high-quality moisturizer and of course, SPF!

How many treatments do I need for maximum results?

4 to 6 weekly sessions are recommend for complete skin remodeling.

How long is each treatment?

In most cases we can complete a Hollywood Peel in about 45 minutes. There's no downtime afterward so you can carry on with your day's activities. It's perfect for a lunch hour!
