How long does a lash extension appointment take?

A full set usually takes about 2 to 3 hours, depending on the style and how much volume you want. Fill appointments are shorter, generally 60 to 90 minutes. Alexandra will give you a more exact estimate during your consultation.

Do lash extensions hurt or damage my natural lashes?

Extensions shouldn’t hurt at all. Most people relax or even nap during the service, with their eyes closed and gel pads protecting the under-eye area. When a licensed esthetician applies them correctly, one extension goes on each natural lash, so your own lashes stay healthy.

How long do lash extensions last?

Each extension stays on until the natural lash it’s attached to sheds. That is part of a normal growth cycle of about 6 to 8 weeks. Most of our Eugene, OR clients book a fill every 2 to 3 weeks to keep the set looking full.

What's the difference between classic, hybrid and volume lashes?

Classic lashes put one extension on each natural lash for a defined, mascara-like look. Volume lashes attach a fan of several very fine extensions to each natural lash for a fuller, more dramatic look. Hybrid lashes mix the two. Alexandra can help you choose based on your natural lashes and the look you want.

How should I prepare for my lash appointment?

Arrive with clean, makeup-free eyes, and skip mascara, eyeliner and oil-based products on the day. Take out contact lenses before you sit down. Avoid curling or tinting your lashes in the days beforehand, since that can affect how well the adhesive bonds.

How do I take care of my lash extensions after my appointment?

Keep your lashes dry for the first 24 hours so the adhesive can fully set. After that, gently cleanse them with a lash-safe cleanser and brush them daily with a clean spoolie. Avoid oil-based makeup removers, and don't pick, pull or rub your lashes.

Can I wear mascara or get my lashes wet with extensions?

We don’t recommend using mascara, because it clumps the lashes and is hard to remove without loosening the adhesive. Once the first 24 hours have passed, you can shower, wash your face and swim as usual. Just pat them dry gently and avoid steam rooms, saunas and rubbing your eyes.

What if I'm allergic or have sensitive eyes?

Tell Alexandra about any allergies, past reactions to adhesives or eye conditions before your appointment. She can talk through your options and let you know whether extensions are a good fit.

What should I do if I want to remove my lash extensions?

Please don't pick or pull them off, as that can take your natural lashes with it. Book a removal with Alexandra, who will dissolve the adhesive so the extensions come off safely without stressing your natural lashes.
