About

Susan was briefly our Medical Director during a period of transition the first year we opened. She has gladly returned to the role of our Medical Director and is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).

Licensed in Oregon as both a Registered Nurse and Family Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive privileges, she brings more than 45 years of nursing experience – including 34 years as a nurse practitioner – to the care of her patients. Her experiences literally include birth to death as having started as a pharmacy technician in 1970 before obtaining her LPN at Walla Walla Community College in 1978. Washington State University Intercollegiate Center for Nursing Education granted her BSN in 1980. After marriage and starting a family, she obtained her MSN with honors as an FNP in 1991 from Mississippi University for Women.

Over the years, Susan has cared for patients in many settings – from the Newborn Nursery, Med-Surg, and Cardiac Care units to Public Health, Community Mental Health, and school nursing. While teaching Health Occupations at Sheldon, she taught college credit courses in Medical Terminology and Body Systems Anatomy and Physiology. Over the years she has briefly worked in family practice and developmental disabilities. She most recently completed more than eight years as a nurse practitioner working in hospice care. She has served on several community health Advisory Boards over 4 decades in Idaho, Washington, and Oregon. Susan also served in the U.S. Army Reserve for more than 13 years; nine years as an officer.

After decades of working that revolved around taking care and helping others, Susan looks forward to taking care of herself using many of Alora products and services. She is excited to be returning to Alora Wellness and Spa again working with a team that loves what they do, who truly cares about their patients, and love the people they work with.
