PRF Injections

attractive middle aged woman
Platelet rich fibrin (PRF) is a form of injectable cosmetic treatment that uses components of your own blood to aid in healing and rejuvenation. PRF contains stem cells and growth-rich platelets. When injected back into the skin, it accelerates the body’s natural production of collagen and elastin to provide overall skin rejuvenation. Alora Wellness & Spa offers PRF cosmetic injections in Eugene, Oregon. Book a consultation with one of Alora's specialists today!

What Can I Expect from PRF?

We will start by withdrawing a small amount of your blood. PRF (we call it “liquid gold”) is separated from the blood through a process called "centrifuge". Through a centrifuge process, we separate the plasma from the blood cells. Components of the plasma are used for your cosmetic treatment. Studies have shown that the increased concentration of growth factors in PRF can potentially speed up the anti-aging and hair rejuvenation process.

Hair restoration: Small amounts of PRF are injected along thinning areas and areas of concern. The natural growth factors in PRF do three things:

  • Recruit new hairs to grow.
  • Keeps hair that is present in its growth phase.
  • Stimulates stem cells around follicles to thicken.

Facial rejuvenation: PRF is injected directly into lines and creases with immediate results. Common areas for rejuvenation:

  • Tear Troughs
  • Temples
  • Cheeks/Smile Lines
  • Frown Lines
  • Acne & Facial/Body Scars

PRF FAQ

How much does PRF cost in Oregon?

The cost of PRF treatments in Eugene, Oregon can vary depending on your specific goals, the areas being treated and whether PRF is combined with other procedures. Because of this variability, we can provide you with a personalized quote based on your unique goals and treatment plan at the time of your consultation.

How is PRF different from PRP?

Both PRF and PRP are derived from your blood, but PRF is processed more gently and without anticoagulants. This allows it to form a fibrin scaffold that slowly releases growth factors over several days rather than delivering them all at once. Because of this extended release, PRF is often considered a more advanced option for longer-lasting collagen stimulation and more gradual, natural-looking improvements.

What areas of the face can be treated with PRF?

PRF is commonly used under the eyes to soften dark circles and crepey skin, as well as in areas with fine lines or mild volume loss such as the cheeks, nasolabial folds and around the mouth. It can also be used along the jawline and even in the scalp for hair rejuvenation. Treatment areas are customized based on your specific concerns and aesthetic goals.

Is PRF safe since it uses my own blood?

Yes. Because PRF is created entirely from your own blood, there is very little risk of allergic reaction or rejection. It is a natural treatment option for patients who prefer regenerative techniques rather than synthetic fillers. As with any injection, minor swelling or bruising is possible, but serious complications are rare when performed by a trained provider.

How many PRF treatments will I need?

Most people benefit from a series of 2 to 3 treatments spaced several weeks apart to build collagen gradually. Maintenance sessions may be recommended once or twice a year, depending on your goals, age and skin quality.

When will I start to see results from PRF?

Results develop gradually. Some people notice subtle improvement within a few weeks, but the most noticeable changes typically appear over 2 to 3 months as new collagen forms. Because PRF works with your body’s natural healing response, improvements continue to take shape over time.

How long do PRF results last?

Results can last anywhere from 6 to 12 months or longer, depending on the treatment area and factors such as age and lifestyle habits. Maintaining a consistent skincare routine and healthy habits can help to prolong your results.

Is there any downtime after PRF injections?

Downtime is minimal. You may experience mild swelling, redness or bruising at the injection sites, but most people feel comfortable returning to normal activities within a day or two. Makeup can usually be applied after 24 hours if needed.

Can PRF be combined with other treatments?

Yes. PRF is often combined with microneedling to enhance skin rejuvenation or paired with dermal fillers for patients who want both collagen stimulation and immediate volume correction. Your provider can recommend a customized treatment plan.

What should I avoid before and after a PRF treatment?

We generally recommend avoiding blood-thinning medications, alcohol and anti-inflammatory medications before treatment to reduce bruising. After treatment, limiting strenuous exercise, excessive heat exposure and alcohol for 24 hours can help to support optimal healing and results.
