During your first visit, RN Lyndy will discuss your treatment goals and perform a facial analysis to determine the appropriate treatment areas for you. Your specialist may numb the area with a topical emulsion prior to injections. Because most fillers contain Lidocaine, a numbing agent, most patients report little discomfort. You will have minimal downtime, but it is very common to see mild bruising and swelling at the injection site after your treatment. Avoid sun, heat, workouts, and alcohol for 24 hours; these side effects should clear up within a few days.
Avoid alcohol, aspirin, some supplements (high-dose vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, and garlic) or other blood-thinning medications for a week or two prior to your appointment, to minimize bruising. Alora Wellness & Spa recommends arnica gel or cream, to reduce pain and swelling.
You’ll see more fullness or smoother skin immediately or within a couple of days, but it can take up to two weeks for the swelling to fully subside.

The cost of dermal fillers varies based on the type of filler used, the treatment area and the number of syringes needed. After a personalized treatment plan is created at your consultation, we can provide you with a customized price estimate. There isn’t a specific “right” age to start dermal fillers. Some people begin in their 20s or 30s to subtly maintain volume, while others wait until later when changes become more noticeable. The right age to start injectable treatments depends on your personal preferences and goals.
Your provider will evaluate your facial structure, skin quality and aesthetic goals to recommend the most appropriate filler for natural-looking results.
The number of syringes needed depends on the size, location and number of treatment areas, the degree of volume loss and your specific goals. Some patients require one syringe, while others benefit from a multi-syringe approach for balanced results.
Most people describe filler injections as a brief pinch or slight pressure. Many fillers contain lidocaine to improve comfort during treatment.
No, there is no downtime after fillers, so you can expect to return to your normal daily activities right after your appointment. Mild swelling, redness or bruising may occur, however, though these typically resolve on their own within a few days.
Yes. Fillers and BOTOX® are commonly combined in the same appointment to address both volume loss and expression-related wrinkles.
You will be able to see noticeable results directly after your appointment. However, it can take up to 2 weeks for your final filler results to fully develop and for any residual swelling to subside.
The longevity of results varies depending on the filler used and treatment area, but most hyaluronic acid dermal fillers last between 6 and 18 months.
Yes, hyaluronic acid–based fillers can be safely dissolved if adjustments are needed or if you are unhappy with your results for any reason.
